The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), which is located on the unceded land of the Mi’kmaq Nation, of the Wabanaki Confederacy, in the traditional district of Epekwitk, welcomes applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Faculty of Business with a focus on entrepreneurship beginning July 1, 2022, subject to budgetary approval. The Faculty of Business offers both undergraduate and graduate level programs to a diverse student body, with an emphasis on experiential and evidence-based learning. In addition, the Faculty of Business has a well-established record of innovative and impactful research that blends knowledge creation and dissemination amongst both academic and industry communities. This position is subject to budgetary approval.

Qualifications:

The preferred candidate for this appointment in entrepreneurship will hold a PhD, or be close to completion, in Business Administration (or a related field) with an emphasis on entrepreneurship. A record of excellence in teaching and research appropriate to career stage, or a demonstration of clear promise is required. The successful candidate will be a member of the faculty team and be expected to balance service contributions with scholarly productivity and teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates who can demonstrate success or promise in those areas are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in and manage various course-based and university-wide experiential learning programs. These include various entrepreneurship partnership awards and competition programs the Faculty of Business participates in annually and where students are mentored and coached to develop and submit viable business plans for assessment and potential seed funding. Preference may be given to candidates with both strong academic qualifications and professional experience in an applied setting.
