IT Systems & Services (ITSS) is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to support the implementation and ongoing operations of our enterprise IT systems. This individual will work closely with others within ITSS and various departments in supporting the IT needs of the campus community and providing excellent customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working within ITSS, the Systems Analyst will be responsible for implementing, supporting and maintaining various functional and operational areas of the University. Areas of responsibility will include assisting with system configuration and patching, data access and protection, application deployment and support. 

Duties include:

  • Assist in the planning, design, development, implementation of new applications and the management of existing applications
  • Manage and support data protection/backup operations including both on premise and Cloud applications/data
  • Patching of various systems/applications including VMWare, ESXi, Windows and Linux servers
  • Manage Virtual environments/resources including VMWare and Azure Virtual Desktop environments
  • Assist with management and configuration of Microsoft M365 services to support Enterprise/Cloud delivery of services
  • SSL certificate renewals, tracking and installation
  • Support and manage and assist with Printing environments within UPEI
  • Assist with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements/systems goals, and identify/resolve business systems issues
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Works closely with business systems analysts to develop IT solutions
  • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems
  • System and process analysis and documentation
  • Consulting and advising ERP stakeholders across the university
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma\Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (or related field) and three year’s work experience in an Enterprise Application, server and/or network support role, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience is required
  •  Knowledge in the following areas experience supporting all current versions of Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, iOS, ChromeOS and Android operating systems
  • Microsoft Windows Server with Active Directory and related software services (e.g. User account management, group policy management, file and print sharing, etc.)
  • Experience in backing up data/environments (experience with Veeam would be considered an asset)

Assets:

  • Experience in the configuration and management of Microsoft’s M365 Cloud based services
  • One or more relevant industry certifications: e.g. Microsoft (MSCE), Cisco (CCNA), Linux (LPI), Project Management (PMI)
  • Experience managing virtualized environments (VMWare, Hyper-V, Azure, AWS etc.)
  • Aptitudes for problem solving, system design, and programming An ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • A desire to continuously learn, to be continually challenged, and have an innovative approach to providing solutions and opportunities to clients
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • A strong commitment to excellent client service and teamwork is a fundamental requirement for this position, along with very strong communication skills, both oral and written
