Sessional Instructor - Department of Applied Human Sciences - Faculty of Science (Fall 2021)
The Department of Applied Human Sciences at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Instructor during the Fall 2021 academic semester, subject to final budgetary approval. Individuals qualified to teach the following courses are encouraged to apply.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, UPEI will be offering courses using a blended approach to teaching. As such, lecture materials will be delivered online for each of the courses below.
Kinesiology 2620/Sociology 2210 – Introduction to Sociology of Sport and Exercise
This course will explore the significance of sport across society and culture. Students will gain an understanding of the role of sport in culture and how sport is structured within society. Different sociological theories will be presented and discussed throughout the class to explain the intersection of sport and society.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a field related to the respective course content. Documented experience teaching these courses would be a definite asset.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster, and to those with experience in teaching university level courses.
