Fall 2025

The Faculty of Education at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a sessional instructor to teach the following online course in fall 2025. The offering is conditional pending final enrolment numbers. All positions are subject to final budgetary and administrative approval.

ED-4280-3 Math au primaire 2 – taught in French
A continuation of Education 4230, this course further examines and extends the pedagogy of Primary/Elementary focusing on how children conceptualize mathematics and instructional methods required to foster children’s numeracy skills.

This course is offered on-line in French to students in the primary/elementary cohort of our BEd (français langue seconde) program.  The course is offered Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30pm to 3:15pm, September 3 to October 16, 2025.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have a Masters of Education or equivalent degree.  Successful candidates will normally have school-based experience in a Canadian public K-12 system.  For applicants without school-based experience, teaching in other contexts relevant and appropriate to the position will be considered. Applicants should have experience in teaching, research or practice related to the course content.

Fluency, in English and in French, in each of the three language skills: reading, writing and oral interaction is essential.

Instructors accepting on-line and hybrid courses are expected to have sufficient internet bandwidth and technology available to deliver the course on-line.

Qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Faculty of Education’s Sessional Roster and the Faculty’s full-time and term contract faculty members will be given priority.
