The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), which is located on the unceded land of the Mi’kmaq Nation, of the Wabanaki Confederacy, in the traditional district of Epekwitk, welcomes applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position in the Faculty of Business with a focus on tourism management beginning January 1, 2023, subject to final budgetary approval. The Faculty of Business offers both undergraduate and graduate level programs to a diverse student body, with an emphasis on experiential and evidence-based learning. In addition, the Faculty of Business has a well-established record of innovative and impactful research that blends knowledge creation and dissemination amongst both academic and industry communities.

The preferred candidate for this appointment will hold a PhD, or be close to completion, in tourism management or a related field. A record of excellence in teaching and research appropriate to career stage, or a demonstration of clear promise is required. The successful candidate will be expected to balance service contributions with teaching and scholarly productivity.  The successful candidate will be expected to grow the Faculty’s tourism management specialization and to engage with the local tourism sector, along with UPEI’s Island Studies, Climate Change, and Environmental Studies programs. Preference may be given to candidates with both strong academic qualifications and professional experience in an applied setting.
