The Department of Development and Alumni Engagement is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented person with financial and database experience to fill the role of Gift and Data Processor. This position reports to the Manager of Strategic Information and Development Program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate all aspects of financial transactions, including processing donations, with a high degree of accuracy and in accordance with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) policies
  • Maintain departmental financial and paper records in keeping with the established policies
  • Handle highly sensitive information with care and discretion
  • Develop confidential correspondence and communications related to donors and alumni for departmental managers
  • Set up and run simple and complex queries and exports in Raiser’s Edge to create mail and email lists, donation reports, and more
  • Collaborate with multiple departments across campus to ensure specific gift requirements are met
  • Perform other duties as required in a busy office environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in office administration or accounting
  • Minimum two years of experience in entering financial transactions into Raiser’s Edge (or another comprehensive database) and generating receipts and reports
  • Demonstrated experience in working with queries and exports to extract information from the database
  • Ability to handle confidential information and utilize discretion
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with an exceptional level of accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication (oral and written) skills to interact effectively with alumni, donors, students, staff, faculty, and the public
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word and Excel with the ability to perform mail merges
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently in a dynamic and diverse environment
