Reporting to the Manager of Accessibility Services, the Student Care Attendant will support students with care needs living in UPEI residences as well as other project-based work.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Providing on site overnight, live in assistance and, when necessary, attending to personal needs of students with special medical or physical challenges including personal care and mobility as required 

  • Responding to medical needs of students, monitoring and engaging further medical support if needed 

  • Documenting activities and incidents

  • Other duties as required within the scope of the classification 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Grade 12/GED 

  • Good physical condition and capability 

  • First Aid/CPR trained 

  • Must possess and exhibit a positive and caring attitude towards the special needs of students, and be able to work collaboratively with support teams 

  • Provide Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check and have no past or present criminal record which would be detrimental in working in an environment with vulnerable adults.
