The Research Services Office is seeking a Research Services Liaison to provide pre-award and post-award reporting and communication duties for research activities at UPEI. The successful applicant will report directly to the Manager of Research Services

RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRE-AWARD

  • Assist in pre-award activities for contracts and grants
  • Coordinate compliance input for contracts and grants

POST-AWARD

  • Prepare, assess, and provide analysis on quarterly and annual reports of research grants and contracts for each Faculty and department
  • Lead the creation of a dashboard to present reports to Deans on the status of research
  • Conduct Post-Award reports to define upcoming project status reports
  • Conduct post-award administration for grants and contracts to align research files and closeout activities
  • Process Institutional funding transfers
  • Process and complete account initiation activities for all awards, including grants and contracts, including modification and extension requests
  • Assist with preparation and consolidation of external and institutional reporting to funding agencies

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Act as the business champion for the primary software tool for research services. Includes monitoring queries and reviewing access and permissions, updating forms and documentation
  • Continuous update of research services website to provide essential information to the research community
  • Coordinate and plan events and workshops to enhance communications and awareness of funding opportunities for researchers
  • Update and disseminate internal processes and procedures
  • Coordinate and prepare software education and training for researchers on the research database
  • Other duties as may be required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience such as data collection and processing
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Advanced level of computer skills in a wide range of software applications such Word, PowerPoint, Excel, including preparation of presentations, tables reports, statistical charts, and manipulation of data
  • The successful candidate must be able to work independently and take the initiative where appropriate. Must be able to function as a member of a team in a busy department
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate superior customer service orientation and attention to detail
  • Ability to deal effectively with people, including conflict management skills
  • Familiarity with University regulations and policies will be considered an asset
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
