The Department of Development and Alumni Engagement at the University of Prince Edward Island is seeking a Manager of Strategic Information and Development Programs to be responsible for strategic information management and support of all data systems for development programs. This includes managing the Raiser’s Edge database, reporting, fund management, and overall operational support of fundraising efforts. This position also supervises gift and data processing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a member of the Development and Alumni Engagement management team, the Manager of Strategic Information and Development Programs will:

  • Manage and oversee the preparation of data driven reports for presentation to the Board of Governors, auditors, and others
  • Manage development funds which involves reconciling Finance and database records, tracking donations and spending, and balancing accounts
  • Oversee the tracking of pledge commitments to ensure a maximum fulfillment rate
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience of CRA policies regarding donations to ensure compliance
  • Provide supervision and guidance to the full-time gift and data processor staff
  • Attend and participate in development and prospect meetings
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the Raiser’s Edge database program requirements, including developing, implementing, and overseeing policies and procedures, performing comprehensive audits regularly to maintain data integrity, and working with ITSS department on updates
  • Manage and develop all required simple and complex queries for all reporting and exporting requirements
  • Oversee and participate in the set up of new constituent, campaign, appeal, package, and event records in Raiser’s Edge
  • Train new staff in how to use the Raiser’s Edge program and perform relevant processes
  • Manage the annual importing of new graduate information into the alumni database
  • Work in collaboration with the Executive Director in the stewardship of major gifts, including meeting with donors and other stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as required in support of alumni and fundraising efforts

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree in business, information technology, or accounting is preferred. A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered
  • Minimum of five years experience with advanced level experience in using Raiser’s Edge (or other comprehensive database) and a minimum of two years direct experience in a management role
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, and Raiser’s Edge database
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of gift processing and CRA policies
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices
  • High level of organization and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professionalism, maturity, and the ability to deal with confidentiality are vital in this role
