Dr Stacey MacKinnon is seeking applications for a Student Research Assistant for The Curiosity and Inquiry Research Collaboration Lab. This individual will also be working with Dr. Kathryn Proudfoot at the Atlantic Veterinary College.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting literature searches & analyzing findings
  • Data collection & analysis (qualitative & quantitative)
  • Designing and pilot-testing AI-assisted training modules
  • Participating in the refining and enhancing of Reading with Purpose (RWP), Watching with Purpose (WWP) and the Question Formulation Technique (QFT) protocols
  • Training & mentoring volunteer research assistants
  • Writing & editing

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a current UPEI student
  • Must be physically present on PEI for the duration of the project
  • Must have a minimum of fourth year standing in the UPEI Department of Psychology
  • Must have previous experience in a teaching assistant position that required more than marking/supervising tests
  • Have familiarity with & interest in learning more about generative artificial intelligence as it applies to higher education learning & assessment
  • Have excellent literature search, analysis and writing skills
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Be reliable, dependable, and able to work both independently & in a team environment

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
