The Faculty of Education requires a person to review and summarize undergraduate student admissions files. This is a full-time five-week term position working on-campus. Reporting to the Interim Dean, this position will ensure the efficient management and processing of undergraduate admission applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working closely with the Bachelor of Education Program Coordinator and Bachelor of Education Administrative Assistant, the Admissions Review Assistant:

  • Reviews admissions files in an efficient and timely manner and creates a summary of application components such as academics, experience, and references
  • Verifies completeness of applications, organizes and tracks applications, applies admission policies, and assesses the applications based on the criteria for acceptance 
  • May need to request supporting materials and may confirm and follow-up on various applications elements.  Confidentiality and attention to detail is required
  • Updates and records relevant admission decisions and prepares decisions for submission to Registrar’s Office
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in education would be considered an asset
  • Two to three years recent related experience in an academic environment is required
  • Experience verifying information or data is an asset
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision
