UPEI is launching a professional Master of Cleantech Leadership & Transformation (MCLT). This program will help develop the capacity needed to support PEI’s transition to net zero energy by 2030 and net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. The professional graduate program will be part of a larger initiative within the Cleantech Academy, a joint initiative of UPEI, Holland College, and the PEI Government. The Cleantech Academy and its Learning & Innovation Centre being built in Georgetown PEI will work to foster a community dedicated to innovation and collaboration through post-secondary education and industry connections. Reporting to the Associate Vice-President Research and Dean of Graduate Studies (AVPR/DGS), this position will provide administrative support for the program, its faculty, staff and students.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The successful candidate will be based at the Charlottetown Campus for the first year and will move to a few days in person at the Cleantech Learning & Innovation Centre in Georgetown (September 2026). The Cleantech Administrative Assistant will support the work of the Cleantech Program Dean, Faculty and Staff by:

  • Providing logistics support including hiring program staff, scheduling meetings, booking rooms and catering, coordinating agendas, planning travel; 

  • Serving as the primary liaison between Cleantech program stakeholders and the university; 

  • Managing the MCLT program budget, processing expenses, and financial reporting for the MCLT program;

  • Supporting student and applicant query requests through accurate, timely, and professional communication;

  • Creating and maintaining student records;

  • Recording meeting minutes, ensuring key discussions, decisions and action items are documented and actioned;

  • Supporting the development, implementation and documentation of quality processes/ protocols/procedures for administrative and operational functions within the program;

  • Assisting with the development and upkeep of promotional materials, correspondence, reports, and presentations;

  • Assisting in coordinating events, workshops, and programming to engage students and industry;

  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

  • Successful completion of a recognized post-secondary program in a related area and/or a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience;
  • Demonstrated strong abilities in UPEI systems including Microsoft, Colleague, and Infosilem;
  • Familiarity with UPEI processes and the roles of the various units on campus;
  • A proven ability to work independently and as a member of a diverse team, exercising a high degree of judgment, professionalism, adaptability, confidentiality, and positivity in their work;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Knowledge of the Cleantech and Climate Change sector is considered an asset.
