The Faculty of Education requires an Administrative Assistant to review and summarize graduate student admissions files. This position will be as needed, up to eight hours per week.  This casual position may have irregular hours and may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding, and departmental requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The work involves reviewing domestic and international graduate studies admissions files in an efficient and timely manner and providing a summary of application components such as academics, experience, and references
  • The Admissions Review Assistant may be required to authenticate educational experience and submit application documentation
  • The position also requires tracking application details in a spread sheet or database
  • Confidentiality and attention to detail is required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of Secondary school graduation with minimum of one to two years of post-secondary education
  • A Bachelor’s degree would be considered an asset
  • Recent related experience in an academic environment, preferably in a university Admissions Department or Recruitment Agent setting is required
  • Experience verifying information or data is an asset
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Oral and written mandarin skills are a strong asset
