The Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for the position of Student Marker for SOC 1010-02: Introduction to Sociology during the Fall 2026 semester.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Marking and grading student essays  
•    Assist the instructor with marking submitted questions and short written assignments using a rubric or marking guide
•    Meet with the instructor as needed
•    Read required readings for assignments
•    Enter grades into Moodle and/or spreadsheets


QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Enrollment as a 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student at UPEI. 
•    Preference will be given to students whose major is in Sociology, Anthropology, Sociology/Anthropology and/or DSJS. 
•    Good academic standing and strong written communication skills.
•    Excellent time management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
