The Department of Sociology and Anthropology welcomes applications for a Student Marker for SAN 2590-01: Data, Power, and Profit (Online). This position involves approximately 20 hours of work distributed across the Fall 2026 term.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Assist the instructor with marking submitted questions and short written assignments using a rubric or marking guide
•    Meet with the instructor as needed
•    Read required readings for assignments
•    Enter grades into Moodle and/or spreadsheets

QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Preference will be given to UPEI students in 3rd or 4th year student majoring in Sociology or Anthropology
•    Successful completion of SOC 1010 or ANTH 1010, with preference given to students have that completed SAN 3590
•    Time commitment will vary from week to week; successful applicants must be able to dedicate at least 1-2 hours per week
•    Demonstrated ability to work independently
•     Demonstrated interest in the course topic
•    Strong academic performance in upper-level SOC/ANTH theory courses


Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
