Diagnostic Clinical Pathologist - Diagnostic Services - Atlantic Veterinary College
The Diagnostic Services Laboratory, Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), University of Prince Edward Island, invites applicants for a contract position in clinical pathology. This is a position equivalent to a 0.7 FTE contract but with 19 weeks of work done over a 6 month span (July 1-December 31, 2019) including time between Christmas and New Year’s Day. It is ideally composed of 19 full-time work weeks flexibly scheduled, but other arrangements are also possible. Applications for part of this time frame will also be considered. The successful candidate will work with 3 ACVP board certified clinical pathologists. His or her primary responsibility will be the examination and interpretation of cytologic samples and to provide interpretations of chemical, hematologic and endocrinologic data from samples submitted to the AVC Diagnostic Services Laboratory. The clients of this service include the AVC teaching hospital, researchers and private practitioners in the four Atlantic provinces.
Applicants must have a DVM (or equivalent) degree and experience in clinical pathology. Clinical experience and ACVP board certification are assets, but ACVP board eligible individuals will be considered. Salary is commensurate with credentials and experience. This appointment is subject to budgetary approval.
