The International Student and Recruitment Office requires an ADS Level 5 Administrative Assistant to provide general administrative support and international recruitment/admissions support to the Director of International Student and Recruitment Office. As an integral part of the International and Recruitment Office and the international student service team, this position is instrumental in accomplishing the daily administrative tasks and also in assisting the Director and the recruitment team with international student recruitment and applications.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for prospect/student communication using our CRM (Recruit & Colleague)
  • Respond to student inquiries and provide admission information
  • Assist with international and domestic admissions
  • Assist with document management related to new applicants
  • Processing verifications for students who require study permits/visas
  • Maintenance and upkeep of all agent files and remuneration
  • Provide outstanding customer service to prospects, students, faculty and staff
  • Foster an office culture that is inclusive and respectful
  • Assist the Director with financial expenditures and reconciliation
  • General office administration
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 graduation and completion of a recognized post-secondary program in a related area plus a minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience, preferably in a university environment
  • Demonstrated superior customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and maintain confidentiality
  • Experience in a post-secondary environment with preference given to those who have worked directly with students (both international and domestic)
  • Experience with international recruitment agencies and the documentation process for international students
  • Experience with UPEI’s Student Information System (Recruit & Colleague) is preferred
  • Ability to function independently as well as a team member in a fast paced, deadline driven office
