Security Attendant - Security Division - Department of Facilities Management
September to November 2018 (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements)
The Department of Facilities Management Security Services Division is seeking applicants to fill the position of Casual Security Police Attendant.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform such duties as:
• Staffing the Security Services office dispatch desk
• Assisting in the protection of persons and property in student residence
• Counter and phone reception
• Respond to emergency requirements
• Respond to maintenance requirements
• Respond to a variety of alarm systems
• Dealing with general building security
• General key issues
• Monitor the CCTV system
• Copy files as required for Officer Investigation
• Lost and found duties
• Provide parking information
• Fire prevention
• Assist with the investigation of complaints
• Preparing shift reports
• Operate the dispatch radio
• NRCC desk
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Have completed courses in Law and Security, Corrections or possess an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Excellent writing, speaking and computer skills
• Ability to work in a confidential environment
• Be physically able to perform the essential duties of the position
• Knowledge of the UPEI campus would be an asset
• Federal Government and all applicable security clearance will be required
