Sessional Instructor - Department of Biomedical Sciences - Atlantic Veterinary College (Winter 2024)
The Department of Biomedical Sciences is seeking a sessional instructor to deliver the following course to second-year veterinary students during the Winter 2024 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.
Veterinary Toxicology (VBS 2150)
This course introduces basic and clinical principles of toxicology. Toxins are presented using a systems-based approach, and opportunities are provided to apply knowledge in clinical veterinary contexts.
Two hours of lecture and one hour of laboratory per week.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a DVM or other health professional degree and/or a graduate degree (minimum M.Sc; PhD preferred in Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field). Preference will be given to those with teaching experience in Toxicology, but those with evidence of effective teaching in related fields will also be considered.
Preference will be given to the qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Department of Biomedical Sciences Sessional Roster and full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit.
