Driving is one of the most dangerous activities that one may engage in. It requires motor coordination, visual perception, and cognitive skill, i.e., attention, planning, and decision- making all the while adapting to the surrounding environment. Using a driving simulator, we will investigate the disturbance of cognitive skills and reaction time.

The driving simulator is one of the most widely utilized alternative measures of driving performance. It reliably measures driving performance, while ensuring driver safety and eliminating difficult-to- control areas such as traffic density and weather conditions. In our recent test of the reliability of the STISIM Drive, the simulator and tasks appear to be appropriate for assessing driving performance.
