The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee of the Atlantic Canada Economic Association (ACEA) is seeking applications for one undergraduate student research assistant (RA) at UPEI to assist in the development and expansion of the activities of this committee. This position is directed under the supervision of Dr. Nazanin Behzadan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at UPEI, and the Chair of the ACEA DEI Committee Dr. Angela Daley, Assistant Professor in the School of Economics at the University of Maine.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The student RA will help with tasks such as:

  • Drafting a DEI-themed newsletter for the ACEA
  • Coordinating DEI-related teaching resources and conference activities
  • Contributing to research on diversity and inclusion in the economics profession (e.g., literature review, data analysis, survey design, proposal writing).
  • The student RA will be required to attend virtual weekly meetings with the committee Chair, in addition to attending virtual DEI Committee meetings to provide a report about the progress of the work

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a UPEI Economics student who is currently in the 3rd or 4th year of their studies
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills
  • Research skills and experience is also preferred

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
