The Applied Communication, Leadership, and Culture Program, Faculty of Arts, invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach the following course during the first summer session, 2023. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.

ACLC/ENG 3910: Chronicles of Narnia

Course description: C.S. Lewis is one of the more prolific public figures of the 20th century. A scholar, educator, poet, fantasist, and cultural critic, the author of the globally famous Narnian chronicles produced work in dozens of different genres and modes. Using the seven Narnian children’s novels as core texts and some lessons from Lewis’ life and work, this course combines traditional close-reading and book discussion with thematic questions related to leadership, communication, and culture.

Qualifications:

Successful applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in English Literature or a related discipline and a strong record of success in teaching at the undergraduate level.

Qualified applicants on the UPEI Sessional Roster of the ACLC Program will be given priority.
