The Environmental Studies Program at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Lab Instructor during the forthcoming Summer 2026 semester.  This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.

ENV-3020L/BIO 3020L -  Aquaculture and Environment (Lab) (Cross-listed)

This field course will examine interactions between aquaculture and the environment by providing an overview of the global field of aquaculture with an emphasis on the aquaculture industry on Prince Edward Island. Topics covered include policy and regulation, water quality, production systems, disease and pest management, and the effect of aquaculture on the environment and human communities.  

Three-hour lecture, three-hour field.

Please note that the instructor will be responsible for teaching the lab component (M/T/W/TH/F 12:30 PM – 4:20 PM).


Qualifications:

Successful applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in an environmental or related field, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience in the subject area for the course.  Applicants should have experience in teaching, research, or practice related to the course content.


Preference will be given to the qualified candidate with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster, and to those with experience in teaching university-level courses.
