Natural and cultural interpretation is not simply conveying a message as one might do in a conversation or presentation. An interpreter’s job is to foster an environment where learning is disguised in meaningful, relevant and inclusive experiences which lead to deeper understanding, broadening perspectives and building stewardship in protected places.

Parks Canada values the role of interpretation. Our interpreters plan, adapt, develop and deliver engaging programs, presentations and activities for visitors. Our interpreters often lead a team comprised of students and heritage presenters by providing training, guidance and supervision throughout the operational season. Finally, they participate in the planning and development of information panels, exhibits and written content.
