Youth Justice Worker, Department of Justice and Public Safety
$35.33 - $44.16 per hour (Level 18)
The purpose of this position is to provide supervision to young persons with the highest levels of risk and needs and to enforce court orders (e.g., deferred custody and supervision orders, conditional supervision orders, and intensive rehabilitative custody supervision orders). The legal authority afforded Youth Justice Workers in enforcement of these orders is considerably more intrusive than those associated with probation orders and other forms of community sentences; the court and the public demand a high degree of accountability and intervention. In addition to supervising high-risk youth, the position is also responsible for providing timely and effective interventions to young people at risk of or in conflict with the law, focusing on rehabilitation, protection of the public, and repairing of harm to the victim.
