This position oversees the development and implementation of policies, programs and strategies related to climate resiliency, climate coordination and policy, and disaster recovery, as it relates to the agricultural sector. This position provides leadership and direction to a team of specialists.  The team will deliver climate related programs which encourage and influence climate mitigation and adaptation to agricultural producers.  This position, in collaboration with section staff, will serve as the Departmental climate change liaison with industry stakeholders, provincial and federal governments, and academia. Using a team based approach, the incumbent will lead the Department’s direction and vision as it focusses on policy research, development and program management which will position the sector to best respond to climate change related opportunities, initiatives and extreme weather events.
