The Science Horizons Youth Internship Program supports green jobs for youth by offering internship opportunities to recent post-secondary graduates to work in the environmental science, technology, engineering, and mathematics sectors.
For many young people, these internships have been their first full-time jobs after graduation and serve as stepping stones to permanent jobs. The organizations hiring them have also benefitted, with many of their interns subsequently becoming full-time permanent employees.
Eligible interns are:
- between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the internship
- legally entitled to work in Canada
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status
- not in receipt of Employment Insurance during their internship
- graduate of degree or diploma programs from universities, colleges, post-secondary schools of technology, post-secondary institutes and CEGEP (collège d’enseignement général et professionnel, Québec)
