The City of Summerside is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern beginning in September 2023. This is a responsible position providing engineering support services for various City projects regarding utility infrastructure. Work involves contact with other municipal employees, contractors, and the public.

Desirable Training and Experience: 

• Electrical Engineering Student in a post-secondary institution
• Must have a valid driver’s license for PEI and access to a vehicle

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Assist with engineering drawings and assessments of electrical infrastructure
• Set up of work packages/work orders
• Create Excel spreadsheets for determining preventative maintenance planning schedules
• Assist with the data entry of database information on utility assets and conditions
• Assist with Smart grid and SCADA system review and implementation
• Use SCADA system to gather data on various systems such as: windfarm, solar, city electrical load, energy, battery system and more
