The UPEI Field Hockey team will make their third appearance in a row at the National Bank Field Hockey Canada (FHC) U SPORTS Championship, hosted this year by the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario. The Panthers kick off their tournament action when they face off against the host team at 7:30 pm AST on Thursday, November 5.

The Panthers, who were undefeated throughout the regular season, finished second at the Atlantic University Field Hockey League Championship and subsequently earned an unexpected berth at the national championship following a U SPORTS decision last week. That meant the UPEI Field Hockey team, which is primarily self-funded, needed to quickly mobilize fundraising efforts in order to attend. Due to an outpouring of support from generous donors across PEI and beyond, the Panthers raised over $27,000 in just a few days! To donate to UPEI Field Hockey, click here.

The UPEI squad plays again on Friday, November 6, to challenge the University of Toronto at 5:00 pm AST, followed by their final round-robin match against the University of British Columbia on Saturday, November 7, at 5:30 pm AST. The tournament concludes on Sunday, November 8, with the bronze medal match set for 1:00 pm AST and the gold medal championship match taking place at 3:30 pm AST.
