UPEI celebrates 2026 Homecoming Week
UPEI alumni and the campus community kicked off UPEI Homecoming Week on September 18, with activities continuing through to September 29! It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together and enjoy a fun and engaging line-up of events.
On Tuesday, September 22, the Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship and TD Small Business Insurance will present “A Speaker Spotlight and Entrepreneurial Showcase,” featuring speaker Jordan Fraser (BBA 2009) at 5:00 pm in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre. RSVP for the Speaker Spotlight.
Friday, September 25, is Green and White Day. Show your UPEI pride and support your Panther athletes by wearing green and white or any UPEI gear, no matter where you are in the world. Take a photo of yourself wearing UPEI gear and post it to social media with the hashtag #UPEIHOCO for a chance to win a new Pride the Panther mini mascot.
UPEI students, alumni, and other members of the UPEI community are invited to a pre-game pub event, “A UPEI Homecoming: Pub, Grub and Stub,” at the Fox & Crow on Friday at 4:00 pm. Your ticket covers food at the pub, UPEI cheer gear, and a Homecoming ticket valid for any soccer or basketball game that evening. Don’t miss this amazing Homecoming 2026 deal!
Both the UPEI women’s and men’s soccer and basketball teams have home games on Friday, September 25. At 5:00 pm, the UPEI Women’s Soccer Panthers will take on the University of New Brunswick Reds on the UPEI Artificial Turf Field. At 6:00 pm, the UPEI Women’s Basketball Panthers take to the court in the Mickey Place Memorial Tournament at the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. At 7:00 pm, the UPEI Men’s Soccer squad plays the University of New Brunswick, while at 8:00 pm, the UPEI Men’s Basketball team closes out the evening’s Panther action.
Also, on Saturday, September 26, the UPEI Women’s Rugby Panthers will play the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women at 2:00 pm at UPEI Alumni Canada Games Place.
On Tuesday, September 29, at 6:30 pm, the UPEI Alumni Association will present its 2026 Distinguished and Inspiring Young Alumni Awards at the Alex H. MacKinnon Auditorium (Room 242), Don and Marion McDougall Hall. Receiving Distinguished Alumni Awards are Heather Auld, BSc 1977; Dr. Betty Anne Younker, BMus 1978; and Alysha Corrigan, BBA 2018. The Inspiring Young Alumni Awards recipients are Dr. Megan MacLellan, DVM 2011; Spencer Gallant, BSc 2014; Dillon Wight, BSc 2015; and Jared Murphy, BBA 2015. RSVP today!
