Collective Bargaining Update – September 4, 2026

The following provides an update on collective bargaining and related labour relations activities at UPEI.

CUPE 501

Earlier this month, UPEI reached a tentative agreement with CUPE 501 following negotiations. The new collective agreement has now been ratified by both parties and is in place.

The University is grateful to both bargaining teams for their dedication and constructive, respectful approach throughout the negotiations.

UPEI Faculty Association

A conciliation officer was appointed effective August 25 to assist with negotiations between UPEI and the UPEI Faculty Association for Bargaining Units 1 and 2. The parties are proceeding with the conciliation process and meetings have been booked on September 16, 17, and 18.
