The following message was also issued to students, staff, and faculty by email on September 25.

Dear Members of the University Community,

Now that the academic semester is underway and we are back on campus, I will be holding a series of listening sessions with faculty and staff groups, as well as with students, in the coming weeks. These listening sessions are a follow up to our Town Hall in June and Staff Forum in July, and part of our University’s commitment to hold discussions around building trust and safety within our working and learning communities.

Sessions have been scheduled so far for faculty members in the Faculty of Education (Sept. 25), Faculty of Nursing (Sept. 26), Faculty of Business (Sept. 29), Faculty of Arts (Oct. 3), Robertson Library (Oct. 11), and Faculty of Science (Oct. 12) with others to be confirmed/follow. Deans and group leads will send specific event details to group members.

I encourage you to please join the session that applies to you for an opportunity to provide feedback to enhance the campus and workplace culture at UPEI.

The feedback received at these sessions will be considered in relation to the action plan being developed in response to Rubin Thomlinson’s University of Prince Edward Island Review (UPEI Review).

In addition to the listening sessions, the Action Plan Advisory Group, made up of members of the UPEI and broader community, will begin meetings this week to review the UPEI Review and its recommendations. These meetings will take place over the next two months and will be facilitated by Sara Roach-Lewis. Feedback from the Advisory Group will help guide development of the Action Plan. For more information, visit the Action Plan Advisory Group page on the Response to the Independent Review website

Regards,

Greg
