The School of Climate Change and Adaptation at UPEI will host a series of free webinars on climate change. The one-hour webinars begin Friday, March 12, and run weekly at 3 pm through May 28.

The webinar series kicks off with a presentation by Dr. Adam Fenech, director of UPEI’s Climate Research Lab. Dr. Fenech will explore vulnerability to and impacts of climate change, and resulting adaptations. He will also discuss the new Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation being built in St. Peter’s Bay, Prince Edward Island. The 45,000 square-foot research facility, and the lands surrounding it, will serve as a living laboratory, allowing for unlimited access to nearby wetlands, forests, and coastal habitats. The Centre will be a world leader in understanding and adapting to climate-change impacts on economies and ecologies. The focus will be on applying leading technologies, such as drones, big data analytics, and virtual reality, to the climate-change challenge.

Dr. Fenech’s presentation is on Friday, March 12, at 3 pm. Registration is free.
