Amy MacFarlane, CPA, CA, ICD.D is a Corporate Director and an Assistant Professor in the UPEI Faculty of Business, with over two decades of experience in academia and public practice. Amy is an award-winning teacher and researches in the areas of gender and business education, evidence-based corporate governance, and ethical decision-making. Prior to joining the faculty at UPEI, Amy was a Senior Manager in the audit practice of KPMG Cayman Islands where she managed a complex portfolio of audit clients with assets under management in excess of US$40 billion. She specialized primarily in the areas of structured finance and alternative investments. She has also worked in the consulting practice of MRSB, Charlottetown, and the audit and tax practices of Ernst & Young, Vancouver. Amy is currently the President of P.E.I. Bag Co. Ltd., Vice-President of Green Diamond Equipment Ltd. and an external Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Atlantic Aqua Farms Ltd. She also serves on a number of volunteer boards and committees.
