MHW 2019: Bell Let's Talk Day
Dedicated to moving mental health forward in Canada, Bell Let’s Talk promotes awareness and action with a strategy built on 4 key pillars: Fighting the stigma, improving access to care, supporting world-class research and leading by example in workplace mental health. On Bell Let’s Talk Day, Bell will donate more towards mental health initiatives in Canada by contributing 5¢ for every applicable text, call, tweet, social media video view and use of our Facebook frame or Snapchat filter. Stop by the Mental Health Week Information Booths in the W. A. Murphy Student Centre and the Robertson Library to grab a toque, add to the Bell Let’s Talk wall, snap a picture, and join the conversation!

MHW 2019: Soup for the Soul
Soup for the Soul began in 2015 as a way to offer healthy food in a comfortable environment. And it continues four years later! Round tables are conducive to conversation with mellow music adding to the atmosphere. Drop by for a warm bowl of soup with a roll. Real butter tops it all off. Hosts are the Office of the Vice-President Academic and Research and UPEI Student Union.

MHW 2019:Missing Home? Dealing with Homesickness & Culture Shock
Adjusting to a new school and a new country at the same time can be tough; everything can seem new and unfamiliar. What at first seemed like a new adventure may now make you feel unsure about your decision. However, you are not alone. Homesickness and Culture Shock are a natural part of the student life cycle. Join Marion Clorey from Student Affairs, and Richelle Greathouse, from the International Student Office, as they discuss strategies for dealing with this life transition, and how to identify when you might need to get some extra support. MHW 2019: Therapy Dog Visit
Take a “paws” in your day and stop by to meet a couple of special dogs and their owners. Therapeutic Paws of Canada, PEI Division, is a non-profit organization of volunteers providing animal resources for human needs (physical, mental, educational, motivational, socialization) through regular visits to hospitals, residences, schools, etc. Drop by and say hi.

In this workshop we will introduce you to Bullet Journaling (a planning system) and art journaling as two platforms for helping you stay on top of your priorities, including your mental health. Bring any type/size notebook and a pen/pencil with you to the workshop so you can get started!

Mi'kmaq Elder Judy Clark will introduce and teach about the traditional spiritual practice of Smudging. He will speak on the medicines used, the purpose and benefits of smudging. All students, staff and faculty are welcome.
