Mawi’omi Indigenous Student Centre
The Mawi’omi Indigenous Student Centre is a welcoming space at UPEI dedicated to supporting Indigenous students throughout their academic journey. Rooted in a spirit of community and cultural connection, Mawi’omi, meaning “gathering” in Mi’kmaq, is a place where Indigenous students can feel at home on campus.
Here, students can access support services, find a quiet space to study, connect with peers, participate in cultural programming, or simply take a break in a warm and inclusive environment. The Centre hosts a variety of activities including craft sessions, Elder visits, tea and talking circles, language sharing, and more!
Whether you're seeking guidance, community, or a place to be yourself, the Mawi’omi Centre is here for you. All Indigenous students are welcome to gather, learn, share, and grow.
The Mawi’omi Centre is located in Dalton Hall, Room 515. We are open 8:30 am–4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
Drop in anytime, or contact us if you have any questions.
