$28.45 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay

The University of Prince Edward Island invites applications from qualified individuals for a casual position as a Junior Finance Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working within the Comptroller’s Office, this position will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Preparation of financial analysis and reports with attention to details and deadlines, including:
    • Data queries using various software
    • Building new report templates
    • Account analysis and reconciliations
    • Preparation of journal entries
    • Preparation of year-end working papers
    • Support year-end audit processes
  • Provide support to budget processes, including:
    • Preparation of budget reports
    • Preparation of budget changes
  • Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Business degree with knowledge in accounting
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience working in an office environment
  • Experience in a University setting is not required but would be considered an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written
  • Ability to remember numerous details, both qualitative and quantitative
  • Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets, data analysis software and other business software
