Student Assistant - Department of English - Faculty of Arts
$18.70 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
September 11, 2026 to December 31, 2026
The Department of English at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications from UPEI students interested in assisting in feedback and grading in English 1210, with Dr. Shannon Murray
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reading and offering feedback on daily course freewrites and summaries in a timely manner
- Be available twice a week to meet with Dr. Murray and to complete the work before the next class date. (Work done in one class must be completed and returned to Dr. Murray before the next class day.)
- The successful applicant will be required to participate on a weekly basis for the duration of the semester
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preference will be given to a current UPEI student and an English major in 3rd or 4th year
- Must have good communication skills and clear handwriting
- Must have knowledge of the course material and have an acceptable academic record (min. 2.7 GPA)

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
