The University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach a graduate-level capstone course in the Master of Cleantech Leadership and Transformation (MCLT) program during the Fall 2026 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Housed in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, the MCLT is an innovative transdisciplinary graduate program that aims to educate and cultivate transformative leaders who bridge traditional and emerging knowledge systems and drive cleantech innovation for a sustainable future. The program admitted its first cohort in Fall 2025, and this course is the culminating project.

Please note: this course will be taught in person.

CLT-7002 Cleantech Capstone Project II (3 Credits)

This course is the second of a two-part Capstone Project series, focusing on the development and completion of the team project, which will culminate in a final report and presentation with an analysis of findings and recommendations for the community or industry partner.

Dates: 2026-09-08 to 2026-12-23

Responsibilities:

Students enter this course with project proposals developed and approved in CLT-7001 Cleantech Capstone Project I, each anchored to a community partner. The successful applicant will carry those projects through to completion and will, along with weekly seminars:
•    support students through the delivery of their capstone projects, culminating in a final written report and public presentation to the partner organization;
•    supervise the individual leadership development portfolios; and
•    maintain working contact with partner organizations over the course of the term.

Qualifications:

Successful applicants will have a minimum of a PhD and experience teaching or supervising applied, team-based, or capstone projects, preferably at the graduate level. Applicants should also have experience working with community, industry, or public-sector partners on applied projects in cleantech, clean energy, sustainability, or a related area.

The following will be considered assets:
•    professional or practice experience in the cleantech, clean energy, or sustainability sectors;
•    experience teaching or facilitating leadership development, teamwork, stakeholder engagement, or professional communication;
•    experience with graduate-level supervision.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster and to full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit.
