Sessional Instructor - Department of Asian Studies - Faculty of Arts - Fall 2026

The Asian and Korean Studies Programme, Faculty of Arts, UPEI invites applications for a sessional teaching position during the Fall 2026 semester, September 8–Dec. 23, 2026.
This sessional position is subject to final budgetary and administrative approval. Priority is given to the qualified internal candidates on the AST sessional roster.
We are seeking a well-qualified candidate to teach the following Korean language course:
AST 1012 Introduction to Korean I (online)
Calendar course description:
This course is intended for students with no proficiency in Korean. It provides an introduction to the Korean language through the study of pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. It includes numerous oral drills, frequent written exercises, short oral presentations, and simple readings.
Cross-listed with Modern Languages 1012.
Three hours a week
Qualifications:
A doctoral or master’s degree in Korean language/literature or a related academic discipline and ability to speak and write fluent Korean are required. A native Korean speaker with language teaching experience is preferred.
