Dr Stacey MacKinnon is seeking applications for one (1) full-time research assistant to help her finish writing a student inquiry handbook, run inquiry focus groups and conduct interviews relating to Reading with Purpose, IBL, and generative AI in the classroom, preparing data for a systematic literature review, help organize inquiry-based learning opportunities for visiting high school students & professors.  




  • Researching and co-writing student handbook of inquiry skills
  • Conducting literature searches
  • Updating COVIDENCE and Zotera databases
  • Co-writing ethics applications
  • Running focus groups/interviews, transcribing & assisting in analyzing qualitative/quantitative data
  • Making presentations on projects on and off campus
  • Mentor junior volunteers
  • Online design layout & sourcing visuals




Applicants MUST be:

  • At least a fourth year undergraduate student at UPEI
  • Applying to the Psychology honours program for September 2024
  • Highly successful coursework in qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Highly organized
  • Excellent critical/creative thinking and writing skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and in groups
  • Experience supervising and designing activities for 16-25 year olds
  • Previous volunteer research experience an asset


Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
