$84,284 to $93,445 per annum

Reporting to the Director of Experiential and Continuing Education, the Manager of the Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development, will provide strategic leadership and effective management of the office’s people and programming. The Manager will drive strategic program development, relationship/partnership building, quality assurance, and financial sustainability of non-credit, customized and grant funded programming, including both synchronous and asynchronous offerings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Planning & Program Development: Develop, launch, and evaluate new courses and programs aligned with market trends, community need and institutional goals, work with clients to develop programming that meets their needs, and identify grant funded project opportunities
  • Relationship Building and Partnership Development: Identify strategic partners, facilitators, and clients through outreach and research, lead the development of proposals and engage with key groups to build the reach of the unit
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the delivery of high-quality offerings, regular evaluation and revision of content, and monitoring and incorporation of emerging best practices in continuing education and professional development provision
  • Operational Management: Monitor budgets, revenue and expenditures to ensure financial sustainability, ensure smooth and consistent daily operations, negotiate agreements, and supervise and evaluate staff
  • Develop and maintain data collection mechanisms
  • Maintain memberships and affiliations with external continuing education and professional development organizations that foster ongoing knowledge sharing and collaborative projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: A Masters Degree in Adult Education or a related field
  • Experience: Five years of experience in educational program development, preferably in a continuing education environment and 2 years of experience in management roles
  • Experience in needs assessment, program/curriculum development, and adult learning
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and develop relationships at multiple levels and across diverse audiences and areas.
  • Strong financial and budgetary skills
  • Experience with learning management systems would be considered an asset
