$48,938 to $53,655 per annum, prorated to time and term, as per CUPE 1870

Housekeeping is the heart of our operation, ensuring guest rooms are clean and comfortable for every stay. We are looking for energetic, detail-oriented individuals to join our summer team as Housekeeping Supervisors.

As a supervisor, you will coach and support a hardworking, enthusiastic team that takes pride in delivering exceptional service while creating a welcoming environment for our guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly reporting to the Assistant Manager of Housekeeping, Housekeeping Supervisors will be responsible for leading and supporting housekeeping teams in the following duties:

  • Conducting deep cleaning of rooms at the start and end of the summer season
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of guest rooms, staff areas, housekeeping equipment and supplies in accordance with departmental standards
  • Performing laundry services, ensuring proper inventory management and organization of linens and supplies

In addition, supervisors will:

  • Detect, report, and monitor maintenance issues
  • Use cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and steamers effectively (training provided)
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies
  • Adhere to all health and safety standards while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
  • Provide fair and constructive feedback to team members while fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Participate in supervisory training and follow established procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous supervisory experience in housekeeping/hospitality, or prior housekeeping experience at UPEI, is required
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including standing, sweeping, pushing/pulling carts, walking on uneven surfaces, reaching both above and below shoulder level, able to lift up to 25 lbs, etc.
  • Ability to properly mix, use, label and store cleaning chemicals (WHMIS training is provided)
  • Positive, energetic and courteous with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and possibly some late evening shifts
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate is required (training will be provided)
