Our department oversees a diverse Conference Services operation, featuring approximately 750 conference/residence beds across five unique accommodation facilities. 

To support the continued delivery of outstanding guest experiences, we are seeking an energetic, motivated, and detail-oriented professional to join our team as the Assistant Manager of Housekeeping Operations

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Operations Managers for Conference Services and Residence Life, the Assistant Manager of Housekeeping is responsible for:

  • Providing overall leadership and operational oversight for housekeeping services within a 600-bed hotel and 150-bed residence operation during the busy summer season (May–September)
  • Directly supervising five housekeeping supervisors and providing indirect leadership to approximately 40 student housekeeping attendants and unionized team leads
  • Ensuring guest rooms and residence spaces are cleaned, reset, and turned over efficiently to meet operational timelines and established service standards.
  • Establishing daily operational priorities and providing visible, on-floor leadership to support service excellence
  • Collaborating with Conference Services, Residence Life, and internal operational partners to support complex seasonal transitions and peak operational periods
  • Sharing responsibility for recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and labour relations in accordance with collective agreements and organizational policies
  • Managing the housekeeping operating budget, including labour forecasting, supply control, and inventory oversight (linens, laundry, and cleaning products)
  • Maintaining quality assurance standards and responding to guest and student concerns related to housekeeping operations

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field, combined with progressive experience in housekeeping operations, including supervisory or team leadership responsibilities
  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and directly related housekeeping operations experience will be considered
  • In lieu of a hospitality-specific diploma, a minimum of three (3) years of progressive housekeeping operations experience, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or management capacity, is required
  • Knowledge and experience using Kinetic Solutions (KX) Software is considered a strong asset
