Faculty member Dr. Rachelle Gauthier (Faculty of Education) is in search of one research assistant to work on a French research project which will focus on the francisation program that exists within the French first language school in Prince Edward Island.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct and organize a literature search
  • Assist with data collection
  • Conduct transcription of interviews and focus group discussions
  • Assist with preliminary qualitative data analysis
  • Assist in writing an article for publication
  • Assist with writing abstracts for conferences
  • Assist in the development of visual supports for dissemination of results
  • Other tasks related to the research, as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Enrolled in a graduate program at UPEI
  • Excellent language skills in both French and English
  • Experience and ease in working with people
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent writing/editing skills
  • Knowledge of APA
  • Experience in development of PowerPoint presentations, and/or other presentation software
  • Ability to work independently

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
