Postdoctoral Fellowship - Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation - Faculty of Science
The Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation (CCCCA) at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) to work on a research project about climate change impact assessment and adaptation for Prince Edward Island (PEI). The minimum annual salary for this PDF is $45,000 and the funding is guaranteed for at least 2 years. This Postdoctoral Fellowship is subject to final budgetary approval.
The CCCCA will be a new 45,000 square-foot research facility being built in the community of St. Peter’s Bay, PEI. The facility and the lands surrounding it will serve as a living laboratory that allows for unlimited access to nearby wetlands, forests, and coastal habitats. The Centre will be a world leader in understanding and adapting to climate change impacts.
Qualifications:
Interested applicants should have a recent PhD degree in climatology, oceanography, hydrology, geography, environmental science, civil/environmental engineering, computer science, statistics, agricultural engineering, or related fields. Applicants must be self-motivated and have strong communication skills and demonstrated experience with managing multiple tasks. Applicants should also have demonstrated research experience (e.g., publications in top-tier journals) in at least one of the key areas related to climate change, such as high-resolution climate modeling, hydrological/flood modeling, seasonal climate prediction, GIS, remote sensing, climate data analysis and visualization, climate smart agriculture, coastal adaptation to climate change, climate change mitigation, climate/energy policy, etc.
