The Applied Human Sciences Department at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a sessional instructor during the forthcoming Fall 2026 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note: The course listed below will be taught in person unless otherwise specified as online.

Course times reflect the current schedule and may be subject to some flexibility.


KINE-4090-03 Biomechanics: Physical Education

This course provides an opportunity for kinesiology students to apply biomechanics and human motor development to physical education environments. The course will include collaboration with local schools to provide practical learning opportunities. Class time will also be used to cover topics on the development of physical fitness, such as strength and flexibility. Three lecture hours a week.

T/TH 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM


Qualifications:

Applicants must hold an MSc or PhD in a field related to the course content, or a BSc with relevant professional designation and/or experience. Documented experience teaching these courses, advanced fitness certifications (e.g., CSCS, CSEP CPT, or CSEP CEP), and Professional Membership in Kinesiology PEI are definite assets. Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster and full-time and term contract Faculty members of the Academic unit.
