The Master of Arts in Island Studies (MAIS) program at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a graduate research assistant to carry out research on a project entitled To toll or not to toll: Transportation lessons from a world of islands.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out a global island environmental scan of literature on bridge and other crossing tolls
  • Prepare a literature review, including a synthesis of key themes
  • Identify interview participants
  • Assist with interviews, transcription, and analysis
  • Assist with writing a final report and policy brief

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be a current MAIS or other UPEI graduate student
  • Be able to carry out literature searches
  • Be able to write well
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be reliable and able to work independently

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
