Physics 1110, Mon afternoons (in-person) Physics 1210, Tues to Thurs, 11:30am-7:30pm (in-person or online). Positions may be time-shared based on time availability.

$13.00 per hour plus 4% vacation pay

The Physics Department seeks applications for approximately ten student laboratory assistants for the fall 2021 term for Physics 1110, and Physics 1210.


Lab assistants will be doing a combination of any of the following:

  • Acting as a general online resource person for students during online labs
  • Acting as a general in-person resource person for student doing in-person labs
  • Assisting the course instructor with evaluating online lab work
  • Assisting the course instructor with evaluating written work
  • Other online laboratory assistant duties as assigned by the course instructor


  • Applicants will have successfully completed the course for which they are selected to assist in the laboratory, or have relevant alternative experience
  • Preference will be given to students taking Physics as their major or minor
  • Previous experience as a laboratory assistant is an asset
