MTS - Research Assistant - Department of Health Management - Atlantic Veterinary College (Grant Funded)
$28.97 per hour as per CUPE 1870 (Grant Funded) (Off Scale)
September 1, 2022 to February 28, 2023 (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding, and departmental requirements)
The Atlantic Veterinary College is currently seeking a research assistant for a dairy cow research project assessing animal sleep. This position requires a motivated individual capable of working independently and in a team environment and has some experience with research.
- The successful applicant will help collect and analyze data from heart rate and electromyography sensors used on dairy cattle
- Knowledge of cattle behavior welfare is an asset
- Must have some previous research experience
- Experience working with electromyography sensors would be an asset
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work as part of a team
- Experience working with large datasets is ideal
